The live-action film sequel, Kakegurui: Zettai Zetsumei Russian Roulette (Kakegurui: Last Resort Russian Roulette), will now be released on May 12, according to the official website. The live-action adaptation is based on the manga Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler by Homura Kawamoto and Tru Naomura.
The film was supposed to be released on April 29, but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 and the declaration of a state of emergency in four prefectures. The new state of emergency is set to end on May 11.

The manga inspired a ten-episode live-action series, which debuted in Japan in January 2018. Outside of Japan, the series is available on Netflix. In March 2019, the second season with five episodes premiered. In May 2019, the first live-action film was released.
