My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission, the third anime film in My Hero Academia franchise opened in theatres in Japan on Friday and made approximately 310 million yen ($2.81 million). The movie has sold approximately 240,000 tickets and surpassed the day 1 earning of the previous film by 229.2%.

My Hero Academia: Two Heroes the first film in the franchise made 1.72 billion yen overall and My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising the second film earned 1.79 billion yen overall.

The film features an original story. The plot is as follows:
According to the plot of the film, a secret group committed to the annihilation of individuals with Quirks has issued a threat and planted bombs all across the planet. Pro Heroes and Hero Interns try to locate the explosives. Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki meet Rody and end up working alongside him.

Theater goers will get an extra manga volume titled “Vol. World Heroes” which is limited to only 1 million copies.

In July 2018, the film My Hero Academia: Two Heroes was released in Japan. In December 2019, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising was released in Japan. Funimation released the film in the United States and Canada, where it debuted at number one in the box office on February 26. Both films were released in India by PVR Pictures across the country on February 12 and March 12 respectively.
