The new official website for the television anime Sore Demo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru (When Will Ayumu Make His Move?) revealed that the anime would premiere in July 2022 on TBS and other channels. The website announced the staff and released a key visual featuring Ayumu and Urushi.
Mirai Minato will direct the anime at studio SILVER LINK. The series scripts are overseen by Deko Akao. The characters are designed by Kazuya Hirata.
Sore Demo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru (When Will Ayumu Make His Move?) is written and illustrated by Sōichirō Yamamoto. The manga began publication in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The manga is licensed by Kodansha USA for North America. As of July 16, 2021, 8 tankōbon volumes have been published.
The plot is as follows –
Ayumu Tanaka, a first-year high school student, and Urushi Yaotome, a second-year student, are members of the shogi club. Ayumu vows to confess his feelings to Urushi, his senpai, after he manages to defeat her in a game of shogi, but he is a beginner at the game and Urushi always beats him. Meanwhile, Urushi keeps trying to get Ayumu to admit that he likes her, but Ayumu never allows his poker face to slip. -Wiki
Furthermore, the official Twitter account is already operational. From July 7th until August 7th, a Twitter campaign is running to win drawings and autographed colored poster drawn by Yamamoto.
