Tokyo Revengers Live-Action Film’s Trailer Revealed

On Wednesday, Warner Bros. Japan’s official website streamed the entire trailer for the live-action film based on Ken Wakui’s Tokyo Revengers manga. The film’s theme song, “Namae o Yobu yo” (I’ll Call Your Name) by rock band SUPER BEAVER was revealed and previewed in the trailer. Hiro Shimono, a well-known voice actor and a fan of the original manga, narrates the trailer, as he did the previous teaser trailer. A promotional poster was also revealed.

The film was supposed to premiere in Japan on October 9 of last year, but it was postponed until 2021 due to the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country. COVID-19 forced the production to suspend shooting in April 2020. The movie will now be out on July 9th. The Staff and Cast of the film are as follows

Synopsis

Takemichi Hanagaki is a part-time timer whose life is at rock bottom. He learns that the only girlfriend he ever had in his life whom he dated back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana had been killed by the Tokyo Manji Gang, a group of vicious criminals. The day after he learned about the incident, Takemichi’s standing on a station platform and got his back pushed onto the railroad by someone. Thinking he would die from the fall, he closes his eyes. However, when he opens it back, he somehow finds himself traveled back twelve years into the past. Now, that he returned to the peak of his life, the middle school days twelve years ago, in order to save his girlfriend, in order to change himself who had been running away all these time, Takemichi started his Revenge on his life!

Tokyo Revengers is streaming on Muse Asia’s Youtube channel from April 11, 2021. The manga is written by Ken Wakui and it is serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since March 1, 2017. The manga has 21 bundled volumes.
