Violet Evergarden: The Movie anime film bags Kyoto Digital Amusement Award (Kyoto Governor’s Award) grand prize on Tuesday 09-03-2021.


Violet Evergarden: The Movie is the second spin-off film of the Anime Franchise which was launched in January 2018. The film is animated by Kyoto Animation (Full Metal Panic, K-On) also known as KyoAni and directed by Taichi Ishidate (Kyoukai no Kanata). The franchise has 13 anime episodes, 1 OVA and 1 Spin-off anime film. The anime, OVA and 1st film is available on Netflix India.


The film was released on September 18, 2020. It was scheduled to release on January 10, 2020 but was later delayed to April 24, 2020 due to the arson attack on the company. It was delayed again due to COVID-19 pandemic. Violet Evergarden: The Movie sold over 1,400,000 tickets for 2 billion yen (approximately 20$ million or ₹145 crores)


The movie won ‘Grand Prize for Feature Film Animation’ at the Tokyo Anime Awards Festival which was held in February 2021. Mikiko Watanabe won the best Art Direction and Reiko Yoshida won the Best Screenplay/Original Story


Story –
After working as an Auto Memory Doll, Violet Evergarden has come to learn the meaning of the words “I love you.” Her soul, which has been deeply scarred by the war, has begun to heal. She continues to move forward in life, helping others in need, while keeping the words of the first person who ever said “I love you” to her close to her heart.
