On Wednesday, the 28th issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine reported that Ace of Diamond Act 2 (Daiya no Ēsu) manga will be put on hold for two months while the author conducts research. On August 4, the manga will return in the magazine’s combined 36/37th edition.
Manga
Yūji Terajima’s launched Ace of Diamond manga on 15 May 2006 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The series concluded on 14 January 2015 with 47 volumes published.
Ace of Diamond Act 2 was then launched by Yūji in the same magazine on 19 August 2015. As of 16 April 2021, the manga series has 26 published volumes.
Ace of Diamond won the Shogakukan Manga Awards in the shōnen category in 2008. It received the Kodansha Manga Award for best shōnen manga in 2010. The manga had 25 million copies in print as of November 2015.
From 2015 to 2016, a comical spin-off titled “Daiya no B!” about the same characters, but in a brass high school band, was published on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket web platform which were later collected into 3 volumes.
Anime
An anime adaptation of the manga was release in 2013 consisting of 75 episodes. The anime was directed by Mitsuyuki Masuhara at studio Madhouse and Production I.G. In April 2015, the series got a second anime season which had 51 episodes. All the staff and cast of previous season returned for second season.
Ace of Diamond Act 2 manga inspired a television anime which debuted in April 2019. The show featured 52 episodes. Mitsuyuki Masuhara directed the anime at Madhouse. The cast and staff reprised their roles from the previous series
Cruchyroll streamed all 3 seasons as it aired in Japan.
