Demon Slayer 5th Novel Green-Lit for July 16 by Shueisha’s WSJ

On Monday (last week), Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced that Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga is inspiring a fifth novel that will be released on July 16. Demon Slayer 5th novel is titled Kimetesu no Yaiba Novelize: Yūkaku Sennyū Daisakusen-hen (Operation Infiltrate the Entertainment District Arc). Shuka Matsuda is writing the novel, and Gotouge is illustrating it.

Demon Slayer 5th novel will cover the Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yūkaku-hen (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc) of the manga (volume 8-11).

Aya Yajima wrote all the novels which came before this, they are:
1. Demon Slayer: Flower of Happiness (Kimetsu no Yaiba Shiawase no Hana)
2. Demon Slayer: One-Winged Butterfly (Kimetsu no Yaiba Katahane no Chō)
3. Demon Slayer: The Wind’s Telltale Signs (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Kaze no Michishirube)
4. Demon Slayer: Mugen Train

The “Kimetsu TV New Information Announcement Special” will unveil new details about the season 2 which will Aniplex’s YouTube channel and ABEMA on July 13th at 19:00.

Demon Slayer (Kitmetsu no Yaiba) is written by Koyoharu Gotouge. The manga ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from February 15, 2016 – May 18, 2020. The series was compiled into 23 volumes. The English version of the manga is published by VIZ media. The manga is available on Shueisha’s official Manga Plus website and VIZ media.

A 26-episode TV anime ran from April 2019 to September 2019 and became a huge hit all over the world. Haruo Sotozaki directed the anime at Ufotable studio.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train was released on 16 October 2020 in Japan. The film is a direct continuation to the anime series, focusing on the events of the “Mugen Train” plot line. The movie made a whopping $477+ million at the worldwide box office.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the 2nd: Bonds stage play will be performed in Tokyo from August 7 to 15, Osaka from August 20 to 22, and Tokyo again from August 27 to 31. The first stage adaptation premiered in Tokyo in January 2020, followed by Kobe in January and February 2020.
