Kodansha Ltd. is the largest publishing company in Japan. It is known for manga magazines such as Nakayoshi, Afternoon, Evening, Weekly Shōnen Magazine and Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine.
Kodansha was founded in 1909 by Seiji Noma and members of his family continue as its owners either directly or through the Noma Cultural Foundation.
