The Quintessential Quintuplets Anime Film Will Release in 2022

The Quintessential Quintuplets (Gotbun no Hanayome) television anime’s official Twitter account revealed on Sunday that the The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie (Eiga Gotbun no Hanayome) will premiere in 2022. The film’s announcement was made during the evening session of -The Quintessential Quintuplets Special Event 2021- in Nakano Sun Plaza.

Anime

The first season of the anime aired in January 2019 consisting of 12 episodes. The second season of the anime debuted on TBS on January 7 and the last episode of the season aired on March 25.  Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the season two of the anime was pushed from October 2020 to January 7, 2021. All the cast from season one returned for season 2. The animation studio was changed from Tezuka Productions to Bibury Animation Studios.

Manga

In August 2017, the Quintessential Quintuplets manga debuted in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, and author Negi Haruba concluded the series on February 19, 2020. As of today, there are 14 tankōbon volumes of the manga available. The plot is a harem romantic comedy, according to Kodansha:

Futaro Uesugi, a mediocre second-year high school student, comes across a lucrative private tutoring job one day. However, his students, on the other hand, are his classmates!! They’re quintuplets!! They are not only stunning ladies but also troublemakers who despise studying and are on the brink of failing! And his first order of business is to win the sisters’ trust?! Every day is a celebration! The Nakano quintuplets’ funky romantic comedy with five times the cuteness is about to begin!!

On February 26, 2020, Kodansha’s online manga portal MagaPoke (Magazine Pocket) started serialising the “all-color” edition of the manga series. There are currently nine tankōbon volumes available.

The anime is available on Crunchyroll and FUNimation offers the English dubbed version.
