On Tuesday, the official website for the live-action sequel film Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai – Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunōsen Final (Kaguya-sama: Love is War – Final) began streaming a new teaser trailer and revealed a new poster. The film will release on August 20, 2021.
The trailer previews the film’s theme song “Koi Furu Tsukiyo ni Kimi Sо̄fu” (Thinking of You on a Moonlit Night When Love Falls) by idol group King & Prince. The trailer also reveals an insert song “Aitakute” (I Miss You) by Ado.
The events of the original manga’s “Sports Festival and Cultural Festival” arc will be shown in the film, with an emphasis on Yu Ishigami and Tsubame Koyasu.
Manga
Kaguya-sama: Love is War’s manga debuted in May 2015 in Shueisha’s Miracle Jump. It was later moved to Young Jump in March 2016. On May 19, the manga’s 22nd volume was released. The english version of the manga is available on VIZ Media.
Anime
Kaguya-sama: Love is War’s manga spawned a television anime, which ran for 12 episodes beginning in January 2019. The second season of the television anime, Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai – Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunsen, aired in April 2020. Both seasons of the anime are available on Crunchyroll and Funimation. The anime’s third season is currently under production. Shinichi Omata directed the anime at Studio A-1 Pictures.
