On Monday, the 24th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced that Kyōjurō Rengoku will be a playable character in the video game Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hinokami Keppūtan.

The game will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Steam this year. No specific date has been announced yet.
The game will have a storey mode in which fans will relive the events of the first television anime. A combat mode will allow players to take on the roles of various characters and figth each other. Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, Giyu Tomioka, Sakonji Urokodaki, Sabito, Makomo, and Shinobu Koch are among the other confirmed playable characters.
Aniplex is also developing a separate Kimetsu no Yaiba: Keppū Kengeki Royale (Demon Slayer: Blood-Stench Blade Royale) smartphone game. However, the game has been postponed indefinitely in order to improve the quality of the game.
Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) was written by Koyoharu Gotouge and it was published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga debuted on February 2016 and ended on May 2020. A 26-episode TV anime ran from April 2019 to September 2019 and became a huge hit all over the world. Haruo Sotozaki directed the anime at Ufotable studio.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train was released on 16 October 2020 in Japan. The film is a direct continuation to the anime series, focusing on the events of the “Mugen Train” plot line. The movie made a whopping $477+ million at the worldwide box office.
Season two of the anime, Kimetsu no Yaiba – Yūkaku-hen, is slated for release this year.
