On Sunday, the “Sk8 Masquerade of Love” event announced that the Sk8 the Infinity anime is inspiring a new anime project as well as a two-part stage play.
More information about the new anime project will be announced on the anime’s official website and Twitter account in the future.
The first Sk8 The Stage play will premiere in December 2021, and the second will premiere in January 2022.
Synopsis
Funimation describes the story of SK8 the Infinity as follows:
High school students Reki and Langa are hooked on one thing—a dangerous, top secret, no-holds-barred downhill skateboarding race called “S.” When Reki takes Langa, a transfer student, to the mountain where “S” is held, Langa finds himself sucked in. These colorful skaters will take you through a thrilling story of skateboard battles and unlimited possibilities!
Anime
SK8 the Infinity is a 12-episode original anime television series produced and animated by Studio Bones that ran from January 10, 2021 and concluded on April 4, 2021 on ABC TV and TV Asahi’s “ANiMAZiNG!!!” programming block. Aniplex of America has the North American rights to the anime, while Muse Communication has the Southeast Asian rights.
Staff and Cast
Hiroko Utsumi (Banana Fish, Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club) directed the show at Studio Bones. Masanori Miyake, Kyōko Uryū, Subaru Tanaka and Akihiro Sotokawa produced the series. The series was written by Ichirō Ōkouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) and Michinori Chiba (Basilisk, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) designed the characters. Ryō Takahashi composed the music.
