On Friday, the official website for the Doraemon: Nobita’s Little Star Wars 2021 (Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Ritoru Sutā Wōzu 2021) anime film revealed that the film has been postponed from 2021 to spring 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The film was originally scheduled to premiere on March 5, but it was postponed indefinitely. It is the 41st film in the Doraemon franchise and a remake of Doraemon: Nobita’s Little Star Wars, which was released in 1985.
One day, Nobita picks a small rocket from which a small-sized humanoid alien named Papi comes out. He comes to Earth from a planet name Pirika to escape its evil PCIA army. At first, Doraemon and his friends are confused by Papi’s small size, but with the gadget “Small Light”, they shrink and play together. However, the whale-shaped battleship which was chasing Papi come to Earth and attack Japan. Papi blames himself for having involved everyone but, tries to fight against the PCIA army. In January, FuRyu stated that the film’s Nintendo Switch game has been postponed indefinitely. The game was supposed to be released on March 5th, along with the film. No release date has been confirmed yet.
