Kakushigoto TV anime’s official website revealed on Tuesday that the theatrical film will open on July 9 in Japan. The film is a compilation of 12-episodes of TV anime. A teaser video and visual was also released on the website. The title of the film is Kakushigoto: Himegoto wa Nan Desu ka. The teaser and visual show Hime at 18 years old. Check it out –
The story is about a manga artist, Kakushi Gotō, who draws ecchi (erotic) mangas. He does not want his daughter, Hime, to find out about his work. The manga focuses on their daily lives.

Kakushigoto: My Dad’s Secret Ambition is written by Kōji Kumeta and it was serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shōnen Magazine from December 5, 2015 to July 6, 2020. The entire series has been bundled into 12 volumes. Kodansha USA announced the acquisition of the manga for an English language digital release in March 2020, with the first volume releasing on March 17, 2020.

The opening theme of the anime is Flumpool’s “Chiisana Hibi” (Small Days) and the closing theme is Eiichi Ohtaki’s 1981 hit “Kimi wa Tennen Shoku” (You Are Natural Color). Funimation purchased the series and began streaming it on FunimationNow, AnimeLab, and Wakanim. The first volume of Blu-ray and DVD has a 12-page bonus manga illustrated by the artist.
Fun fact – The title, Kakushigoto, apart from being the father’s name, is also the wordplay of “Hidden Things” and “Drawing Job”.
