On Friday, NHK announced that Komi Can’t Communicate live-action series has been green-lit. The series will premiere on September 6 on NHK General’s “Yorudora” late-night drama block and it will have 8 episodes.

On May 11, a website was launched to reveal that Tomohito Oda’s Komi Can’t Communicate (Comi-san wa Comyushō desu) manga is inspiring a TV anime adaptation. The anime will debut on TV Tokyo in October 2021.
The manga was first published as a one-shot in September 2015. Following the one-shot, Oda debuted the manga in Weekly Shonen Sunday in May 2016. The manga has been compiled into 20th bundled volume as of February 18. As of February 2021, the manga has over 5.2 million copies in circulation.
