On Friday, the official website of Orient anime revealed the staff, cast and visual teaser. The anime was announced on August 4 and it is slated for 2022 release. Check out the teaser visual below which features Musashi and Kojirō.

Orient manga series is written and illustrated by Shinobu Ohtaka. From May 2018 to January 2021, it was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine before being moved to Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in February 2021.
The manga is licensed for English publication in North America by Kodansha USA. As of March 17, 2021, twelve tankōbon volumes have been released. Volume 13 will release on August 6 (today).

At age 10, best friends Musashi and Kojiro sat in excited silence as Kojiro’s father spun tales of evil demons who preyed on the innocent, and the warriors who defeated them. Practicing swordplay, the two swear an oath to become the strongest in the world. But as they grow up, Kojiro turns cynical, and Musashi comes to realize that he can’t turn back 150 years of demon rule on his own. He’s being called a prodigy with a pickaxe, and he’s almost ready to settle for a life of labor.
