The official website for Scarlet Nexus television anime revealed the show’s second promotional video on Saturday. The anime will premiere on July 1, 2021.
Scarlet Nexus anime is based on Bandai Namco Entertainment’s role-playing game which will release on June 25, 2021 on PlayStation 5|4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on Steam.
FUNimation has licensed the show outside Asia (United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, France, Germany, and Scandinavian countries). Medialink has licensed the anime for South and Southeast Asia.
The video previews the opening theme song “Red Criminal” by rock band THE ORAL CIGARETTES.
Synopsis
Funimation describes the anime’s story:
Solar calendar year 2020: grotesque organisms called Others have begun eating people. To take down this new enemy, the Other Suppression Force is formed. Saved by this elite team as a child, psychokinetic Yuito withstands the training to enlist. On the other hand, prodigy Kasane was scouted for her abilities. But Kasane’s dreams tell her strange things, dragging the two into an unavoidable fate.
