PVR released My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (Boku no Hero Academia The Movie Heroes Rising) anime film on March 12, 2021. The anime film is being screened in Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, and Chandigarh. The film will screen in Japanese audio with English subtitles. PVR has been working diligently to bring Japanese culture in India. They previously released My Hero Academia: Two Heroes (Boku no Hero Academia The Movie Futari no Hero) on February 12, 2021 and Dragonball Super: Broly last year.
The film is directed by Kenji Nagasaki and animated by Studio Bones. The original manga creator Kohei Horikoshi supervised the film and handled the original character designs. Yuki Hayashi returned to compose the music. It was released in Japan on December 20, 2019 and was released in North America on February 26, 2020. The film grossed $15.1 million in Japan and $13.5 million in United States and Canada, total of approximately $28 million (₹200 crores).
The events of the film take place after the ‘Meta Liberation Army’ arc of the My Hero Academia manga. In a nutshell, Deku and his friends from class 1-A must save an island from a notorious and powerful villain.
