Blue Lock manga is inspiring a television anime which will premiere in 2020. 8-Bit animation studio is animating the series. The shows promotional video, key visual, cast, character design and staff were also revealed.

Blue Lock manga series is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. The manga has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. As of May 17, 2021, the manga has been compiled into 14 tankōbon volumes. Volume 15 will release on August 17, 2021. In 2021, Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category. Kodansha USA licensed the manga is English for North America and they describe the show as:
