On Friday, the official website of Gekijō-ban Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie) released a new teaser trailer which revealed that Megumi Ogata will voice the main character Yuta Okkotsu. Check out the teaser trailer.
Megumi Ogata is known for Shinji in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Sailor Uranus in Sailor Moon, and Kurama in Yū Yū Hakusho. Gege Akutami, author of the manga, drew the below visual of the character Yuta Okkotsu.
Jujutsu Kaisen anime film was announced after the finale of the TV anime this Friday, March 26, 2021 and it is slated for release on December 24th on Christmas Eve.
The film is based on Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Kōtō Senmon Gakkō (Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School) manga was released as a 4-part series in Shueisha’s Jump GIGA from April 28, 2017 to July 28, 2017.
The manga is available on VIZ media. VIZ media describes the story as follows – Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?
Jujutsu Kaisen manga began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on March 5, 2018. Jujutsu Kaisen anime premiered on October 2, 2020, and the finale episode aired today. The anime is available on Crunchyroll outside Asia in multiple subtitle languages.
